The friendly city proved to be just that when the SAICE presidential delegation visited the Algoa branch on 12 – 13 July 2016.
The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) along with its presidential delegation were warmly welcomed by SAICE on 18 July 2016. The team that comprised of approximately 20 engineers visited the Institution as part of their international technical visit itinerary.
The SAICE Johannesburg branch Committee (SAICE JHB branch committee), as part of its annual strategy session, identified the need for a platform to celebrate the engineering excellence that exists amongst our Young Professionals (Professionals who are younger than 35 years of age).

A recent report issued by ratings agency Standard & Poor (S&P), indicated that the outlook remained negative due to adverse consequences of the country’s low GDP growth.
Although the latest statistics released by Statistics SA indicated that jobs in the civil and construction industry were maintained, the South African Institution of Civil Engineering (SAICE) is concerned about the overall loss of 15 000 jobs in the first quarter of 2016.
