Esmé, who received the news of her win on a Monday morning at the end of ‘Januworry’, says she was very excited and a tad bit relieved to be receiving the prize money. “Thank you so much for the mas- sive spoil SAICE!” she said. Esmé, who holds an MEng (Civil) degree is currently an engineer at EFG Engineers, specialising in pavement and civil services design. “I enjoy the problem-solving, ever-improvising, log- ical thinking combined with teamwork, people skills and building relationships that are essential in the civil engineering industry,” she says. A resident of Cape Town, Esmé loves the outdoors and being active. She spends her free time on activities such as hiking, trail running, mountain biking, and surfing.
