GLITZ, GLAMOUR, PRESTIGE, ACHIEVEMENT… Find out how to get your projects and yourself that well deserved recognition from the industry.

Over the next few weeks SAICE will be taking you through a step-by-step process on how to enter projects and nominate individuals for various SAICE award categories.  But first, what is an Award? According to Google, one definition can be,  ‘an award is something given to a person, a group of people, or an organisation to recognise their excellence in a certain field.’ Let’s focus on the word EXCELLENCE. Because good at it’s best is excellent, and this is exactly what SAICE wants to give recognition for… ‘EXCELLENCE’.

I’m sure all of you get that proud feeling when you see  ‘excellence’ once you’ve delivered a project, and just like a nation who is proud of their athletes when they achieve excellence, SAICE is proud of their engineers.

So share your stories of excellence and receive the recognition you deserve…

In this issue, I will guide you on how to enter a project at Branch level.

SAICE has 21 branches across the country. At branch level you can enter your projects in one of two categories namely Technical Excellence or Community-Based. Each category has a list of general and unique criteria that must be met before you can enter a project.

In general, a project entry should have one or more of the following boxes checked

For Technical Excellence:

For Community-Based:

FANTASIC… your project meets the criteria listed above, what now? From here the process is quite simple, just three easy steps and you could be the winner!

Your projects will be showcased at the branch awards banquet and the winners will be announced on that evening. Not all branches celebrate an annual awards banquet. But don’t be discouraged because if you have projects you can submit them directly to National Office.
